And we even have a few Pirate Fantasy players getting ready for camp. TRAINING PARADIGMS ~ NARROW IS THE WAY :

Having been training baseball and softball players now for 26 years, I can arguably say "narrow is the way". I spent 15 years of explaining techniques and mechanics like most coaches. God - blessed me with a great mentor (FRANK PORCO) , who taught me the intricacies of mechanics like no other coach. After working in the Pirates Scouting Dept. and coaching elite college teams, I began to see too many hitters having GREAT BP swings, but could NOT produce consistently in the games. One day it all began to change, while coaching 3rd base I began to pray and ask the LORD, why aren't these hitters - HITTING ?

Both college teams on the field, mine and the opponent, were just producing pop flys, ground balls, and strikeouts.

The pitchers where just O.K. - So what's going on here?

My answer was to turn, and watch the pitcher.. The answer to hit better was in the pitcher. The main objective the pitching coach is telling his pitcher to do is to.. GET THE BATTER OUT ..change speed (disrupt his timing) .. change location ( disrupt spatial awareness) .. So our call to help the HITTERS today, is to combat the tools of the pitcher.. And improve timing .. Improve Spatial Awareness.. and guess what .. IT WORKS! But I teach a timing system that fits with 10 different models of hitting.. Each model fits with how your son / daughter is "wired " to move athletically.
